Schemas in action (Pre-Recorded Learning)

This course explores how schematic play provides valuable insight into the way young children think, learn, and make sense of the world. Participants will gain an understanding of the theory behind schemas, learn to recognise the different patterns of play children naturally display, and discover how these behaviours support cognitive development. The training also examines how schemas can sometimes be mistaken for challenging behaviour or SEND indicators, helping practitioners respond with greater confidence and understanding. Through practical strategies, observation techniques, and planning ideas, learners will be equipped to create engaging, child-centred environments that nurture curiosity, extend learning, and support every child’s individual development.
