Mental Health Awareness Week - 12/05/2025 - 18/05/2025
Since 2001, the Mental Health Foundation has been leading Mental Health Awareness Week – bringing the UK together to focus on getting good mental health. This year, the week takes place from 12th to 18th May, and the theme is ‘community’.
Mental Health Awareness Week is used to celebrate the power and importance of community. Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support in hard times, and give us a sense purpose.
JUNE 2025

Pride Month
Pride Month 2025 kicks off in the UK on the 1st of June and runs through to the 30th of June. It’s the biggest and most diverse celebration in the LGBTQ calendar. The climax of this month-long event is, of course, the vibrant and colourful London parade. This takes place on Saturday 5th July.
Pride Month, celebrated in June each year, is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, commemorate the progress that’s been made, and reflect on what still needs to be done.

World Oceans Day - 08/06/2025
The United Nations marks World Oceans Day each year on 8th June. World Ocean Day unites and rallies the world to protect and restore our blue planet. Since launching global coordination in 2002, World Ocean Day has grown from an idea to thousands of events and millions of people reached each year. The World Ocean Day network includes 2,000+ organizations in 180 countries.
The ocean covers the majority of the earth, but only a small portion of its waters has been explored. Despite humanity’s utter reliance on it, and compared to the breadth and depth of what it gives us, the ocean receives only a fragment of our attention and resources in return.

Father's Day - 15/06/2025
Father’s Day is a day of the year where fathers are particularly honoured by their children. It was first observed in the state of Washington in 1910; in the US, South Africa, and Britain, it is usually the third Sunday in June, this year it is being celebrated on Sunday 15th June.
Although it was originally largely a religious holiday, Father’s Day has been commercialised with the sending of greeting cards and the giving of gifts. Some observe the custom of wearing a red rose to indicate that one’s father is living or a white rose to indicate that he is deceased. Other males—for example, grandfathers or uncles who have assumed parenting roles—are often also honoured on the day.
