Governance Statement

VTS is committed to providing a high quality, innovative training service, using public funds diligently, transparently and with integrity. Accordingly, we have adopted the principles of the Association of Learning Providers ‘Code of Good Governance’ in order to provide independent scrutiny & challenge to our operations.

Our Governance Board meets quarterly under the leadership of our Independent Chair of Governors, Karen Kelly, who brings a wealth of experience in similar roles to the Senior Leadership Team at VTS. We scrutinise all aspects of our performance to challenge our operations, drive up quality and ensure we are fulfilling our expectations of:

 

  • Putting our learners and employers first
  • Promoting high expectations and ambitions for our learners and staff
  • Listening to learners, employers and staff
  • Promoting inspirational training, teaching, learning & assessment
  • Ensuring a rigorous approach to Safeguarding for our learners & staff
  • Providing strong, strategic leadership & challenge to the senior team
  • Demonstrating accountability to all stakeholders, including publishing accurate & timely information on performance
  • Promoting an inclusive culture and ensuring equality of opportunity throughout VTS
