Off The Job Training
From August 2022 Off the job training is now set at a flat rate of 6 hours per week regardless of working hours for a full time apprentice. For part time apprentices the overall Off the job hours are the same but this is delivered over an extended term of learning.

The Off the job training is an essential part of an apprenticeship and therefore must take place during employed time. If training must, by exception, take place in an evening, or outside of contracted hours, we would expect this to be recognised (for example, through time off in lieu).

We have embedded our Off the job activities throughout our curriculums and these tasks relate directly to the lesson plans that are being delivered that month.

At the start of the apprenticeship we will give this curriculum to the learner and the workplace to discuss how this will fit in with their work schedule allowing any changes to be agreed and implemented.
