Ramadan – 28/02/2025 - 30/03/2025
The holy month of Ramadan is a very important time in the Islamic calendar, and Muslims all over the world take part.
It begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent Moon and during the month of Ramadan, Muslims won’t eat or drink between dawn and sunset. This is called fasting. Fasting is important during Ramadan as Muslims believe it allows them to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah, or God. Ramadan is considered important because it is to mark when the Quran, the Muslim holy book, was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad.
Ramadan is also a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, doing good deeds, and spending time with family and friends. Normally, people will make a special effort to connect with their communities and reach out to people who need help.

Easter - 18/04/2025 - 21/04/2025
This year, Good Friday is on 29th March, and Easter Sunday is on 31st March.
Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar, and is celebrated by thousands of people all over the world. Easter is celebrated by Christians to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It represents the fulfillment of prophecies and God’s plan for humankind.
All over the world, there will be services in churches to commemorate Jesus rising from the dead on Easter Sunday. But the most recognisable feature of Easter is the Easter egg. Eggs represent new life – when Jesus rose from the dead – which is why the symbol is used to mark the occasion.
