Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
This qualification will be right for you if you already work in a job where food safety and/or healthier food and special diets are important – probably in a role where you are supervised.
The aims of the course are:
• To take responsibility for your own food safety and keeping food safe
• To understand the importance of keeping clean and hygienic
• To understand the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic
As well as the aims listed above, the qualification covers an understanding of:
• Food safety legislation
• Identifying and resolving food safety ssues
• Catering practices
• Essential nutrients
• Nutritional guidelines
There are nine guided learning hours in this course, with an online test at the end. The test consists of twenty multiple choice questions.
There are no formal entry requirements, and no recommended learning or experience is required.
The Awarding Body is City and Guilds.
There is a fee of £40.00 per learner, which includes registration and certification fees.
